Spring has sprung...

Spring is springing up everywhere.  Even though the gardens have been neglected for so many years, the flowers keep on pressing through and keep on blooming.  With the weather being so warm, and the workers in the house so noisy, we have been busy outside in the yard.

My man in his rubber boots being a farmer!!!  I love it!  We took down the old garden that was in the middle of the yard, with the thought that we will establish a larger one in the alpaca compound once they are moved to their new home.

The windows and doors are all in and the capping around the windows is just about completed.  We have our building permit to do the renovations to the washrooms and add the mudroom, so that will likely be next on the list.

The exterior is already changing with the new windows being capped.  We have a painter lined up for May to paint the clapboard and porch but have yet to decide on the colour.  We are thinking a barn type grey, but are not sure yet.  We will have to take a few photos in to the paint store and see if they have any suggestions.

We are going to be refinishing the last of the floors this weekend, which is such a noisy, dusty, smelly job, but we have a helper this time, so likely I will just be the sweeper/bag emptier/food supplier!!!

We still find ourselves overwhelmed at times with the scope of the project and the surprises that continue to pop up.  But we also find ourselves overwhelmed by the beauty of the spot, and the potential, and the gift that it has already been to us and to people we share it with.
